Respected local author and speaker Scott Mingus will join us at Maple Shade Barn on Thursday, April 19th, 2018 at 7pm. The author of more than eighteen books, Mr. Mingus is an expert on the Northern Central Railway in the Civil War, the key Union supply route that ran from upstate New York through Harrisburg, York, Hanover Junction, and Glen Rock down to Baltimore. The evening will include analysis of the controversial “Lincoln at Hanover Junction.” There will also be an opportunity to purchase books and a book signing. This is a free event.
The Northern York County Historical and Preservation Society (NYCHAPS) strives to inspire by connecting the lessons of the past to the challenges of today. Through hands-on experience, the past culture of the area is brought to life in a deeper and richer educational experience. Through preservation, research, and our collections, NYCHAPS seeks to inspire a different way of learning history.
