Enjoy a special First Friday event in celebration of the Whiskey Rebellion. We will also have a meet and greet with our own George Washington!

Come meet President Washington as he greets the Dill Family who are supporters of the Whisky Tax.

President Washington and his adoring public will accompany him down Baltimore Street in Dillsburg as he greets and thanks the Dills for their support of his Government. Beginning at 6 PM, President Washington will be introduced to Mr. and Mrs. Dill and others from Dill’s Tavern. He will then give a rousing speech from the Tavern balcony. There are rumors that the Whisky Boys (who are fomenting the Rebellion) may arrive to erect a whiskey pole in protest of the tax. There could be some troublesome confrontations!! At 6:30 PM the doors to the Tavern will open for those who want to enjoy the usual First Friday festivities; food, music by Across the Pond, and the continued presence of President Washington before he leaves for Carlisle to raise the Army and march West to put down the Rebellion.

All public, all ages, are welcome gratis to attend the arrival of President Washington between 6 to 6:30 PM. Must for 21 or older for the First Friday activities beginning at 6:30, donation of $10. Seating is limited in the ballroom; please arrive early if you’d like a seat for the performance. Refreshments included with entry. Guests must be 21 or older. BYOB. No advance ticket sales.
