Agriculture Day & Farmer’s Fair @ Dills Tavern

We invite you to join us for Ag Day at Dills Tavern this October!
Agricultural Day & Farmers Fair Event Details:

  • Agriculture Demonstrations – Ongoing during Ag Day Farmers Fair in the Tavern Courtyard and at the Historic Dills Tavern Site
  • Apple cider making: This is a kid friendly event. Apples will be ground on a hand cranked apple press producing cider from a variety of apples
  • Corn shelling: This is a kid friendly event. Kids can participate in removing the kernels from the cobs of corn.
  • Candle Dipping: This is a kid friendly event
  • Hide Tanning, Blacksmithing, Log sawing, woodworking
  • Food preservation, including pickling and making sauerkraut
  • A variety of farm animals will be in the open grassy areas south of the orchard
  • The demonstration distillery will be open during the morning hours with a display of apple brandy and whiskey making.
  • A historic military timeline of reenactors, camps and military demonstrations.

Event Schedule

  • 8 AM – Farmer’s Market and Dills Tavern activities open
  • 11 AM to 1 PM – Music by Stonehouse Breakdown and Betsy Barnicle
  • 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM – Goat Milking demonstration by Bouncing Goat Soaps
  • 10:30 AM – Grain processing and Tobacco demonstration, Barn floor
  • 10:30 AM – A Bee Keeping Demonstration and discussion will occur in the Farmer’s Market area
  • 4 PM – activities end

This is a free event and activities are available for the entire family.
