Maple Tree Tapping and Syrup Boil

The 2017 boil has been canceled due to a poor sap season from the warm weather. The Pancake breakfast is still on for March 18th at Maple Shade Barn.

Learn how to tap trees for sap and boil it down for fresh maple syrup. Throughout February and March, NYCHAPS will be tapping maple trees in the Northern York County region. If you have maple trees on your property at least 27” in diameter, or if you’d like to learn how to make maple syrup, email director@northernyorkhistorical.org or call 717-432-4228 to get involved. The tree tapping will be followed by a syrup boil at Dill’s Tavern on Saturday, March 11th, 2017.
